RAWALPINDI: Security forces killed eight terrorists in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in South Waziristan on Sunday.
Security forces conducted the operation in general area Sararogha, South Waziristan District, on reported presence of terrorists, stated the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). During the conduct of the operation, intense fire exchange took place between troops and terrorists resulting in the killing of eight terrorists.
The slain terrorists remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces as well innocent civilians.
The security forces also recovered arms, ammunition and explosives from their possession. The operation is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country, the ISPR added.
