Malta is a small island country in the Mediterranean Sea, located between Europe and North Africa. Its warm climate, beaches, and historical sites make it a popular destination for travelers from Europe, Africa, and Asia. It is a stable democracy with a high economic dependence on tourism and is a member of the European Union. However, recent allegations of high-level corruption have caused some political friction.

Political
Malta is a democratic republic with parliamentary representation. After the general election in March 2022, the Labor Party (PL) led by Robert Abela was re-elected. Malta is considered a politically stable country despite allegations that the previous government, led by Joseph Muscat (PL), was responsible for the murder of an investigative journalist in 2020. Muscat resigned following the allegations and was replaced by Abella (PL). .
