- Israeli forces bombed the UNRWA-run Ahmed bin Abdul Aziz School in southern Khan Younis, killing at least 20 people, including children.
- The attack followed an assault on a school in northern Beit Hanoon that killed 43 people and another on a Civil Defence Post that killed Al Jazeera cameraman Ahmed Al-Louh and five rescue workers.
- Israel’s government also announced plans to double the population of Israeli settlers in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights after its military seized more land in the territory following the toppling of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
- Israel’s war on Gaza has killed at least 44,976 Palestinians and wounded 106,759 since October 7, 2023. At least 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the Hamas-led attacks that day, and more than 200 were taken captive.

- Sooner or later Gaza will be totally occupied’ by IsraelLuciano Zaccara, an associate professor in Gulf politics at Qatar University, says Israel is “more or less” implementing the same pattern of behaviour in Gaza and the occupied Golan Heights.“The idea is consolidating a territory to reduce the threat they perceived coming from beyond their borders,” he told Al Jazeera in Doha.Zaccara said Israel seeks to fill the territories it occupies with settlements so it can move on to the next territory.“Therefore, they can push everybody outside these territories they were living in before,” he said.“So the plan is there: Sooner or later Gaza will be totally occupied and we will see what will happen with the West Bank,” he concluded.
- ‘People are hungry, cold and traumatised’ in northern GazaWe have more from UNICEF’s Rosalia Bollen, who described the situation in northern Gaza after nearly two months of an Israeli siege as “most dire”.“Across northern Gaza, including Gaza City, the situation is very difficult for hospitals that lack medical supplies and medicines and doctors, but also for the people who are still there,” she said. After driving around the area with colleagues last week, Bollen said she saw some market activity in improvised stalls but said very few had any food.“The little that is available is canned food. The people are hungry, cold and traumatised. A risk of famine alert was issued last month but there haven’t been any supplies entering most northern parts of Gaza, so the situation will further deteriorate for the families there,” she said.“The children I meet with are all hungry.”

- Killing in Gaza ‘will never stop’Luciano Zaccara, an associate professor of Gulf politics at Qatar University, says the Israeli military has not respected any civilian shelters or safe zones since the beginning of the war in Gaza.“So, what is going on in the north of Gaza is very clearly explaining the original plan of Israel,” he told Al Jazeera. “That is, vacate at least a part of Gaza so they can start making settlements in the north.”He stressed that the killing of people in Gaza “will never stop” due to this reason.
