  • Israeli forces strike makeshift tent in al-Mawasi, killing 2 childrenReporting from Deir el-Balah, GazaIsraeli helicopters have been expanding their attacks on al-Mawasi early this morning and overnight.A makeshift tent has been targeted in al-Mawasi in Khan Younis, in the suburbs of the city. Medical sources in Al-Aqsa Hospital confirmed that four Palestinians were killed, including two young children. Apparently, they are all from the same family.People who are still in al-Mawasi are expressing their deep concerns about safety because this area has been widely targeted over the past week, but the main focus of the Israeli military attacks has been on the northern part of Gaza in Beit Lahiya and the Jabalia refugee camp, which have been under relentless heavy bombardment.Witnesses confirmed to Al Jazeera that the Israeli military has been using robots that are highly equipped with explosives to blow up residential neighbourhoods. We saw different videos released by the Israeli army showing how they are blowing up full residential buildings in Jabalia and Beit Lahiya, creating a very destructive landscape there that prevents civilians from returning to live normally in that area.
  • Families of American October 7 victims suing IranThe lawsuit, filed yesterday in US district court in Washington, DC, accuses Iran of culpability for the Hamas-led attack on Israeli territory last year, which killed an estimated 1,139 people. The lawsuit, first reported by The New York Times (NYT), details Iran’s funding of Hamas with the use of documents apparently seized in Gaza and published by the media. The plaintiffs, according to the newspaper, also obtained a new document that exposes a meeting between Hamas’s senior leadership and Iranian officials in 2022, in which now-deceased Yahya Sinwar requested an additional $7m per month in support from Iran to fund something referred to as “the big project”.The suit and NYT say that this “project” was the October 7 attack.Forty-six US citizens were killed on October 7, and 12 were among the 254 people taken captive by Hamas and other groups that day, according to the US government.
