Israel’s war on Gaza live: Israel bombards Gaza, besieges West Bank’s Jenin

  • At least 12 Palestinians have been killed in recent Israeli attacks across Gaza, including in Jabalia in the north and Khan Younis in the south, Gaza’s civil defence reports.
  • Siege of Jenin city by Israeli forces leaves Palestinian residents without food, water, electricity or internet access, as the most intense military raid on the occupied West Bank in decades continues.
  • UNRWA – the UN agency for Palestinian refugees – says 20 Palestinians have been killed in the occupied West Bank since the start of the Israeli incursion on Wednesday, including a person with disabilities and several children.
  • A polio vaccination campaign due to begin in Gaza on Sunday comes as aid groups express concerns that ongoing Israeli attacks are limiting their ability to deliver food and healthcare.
  • At least 40,602 people have been killed and 93,855 wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza. An estimated 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the Hamas-led attacks on October 7.

Residents of the refugee camp have pretty much no access to outside help.

  • Hezbollah claims it struck Israeli army siteThe Lebanese group says on Telegram that its fighters targeted “al-Marj” military outpost in northern Israel with rockets.Hezbollah added it carried out the attack at 8:50am (05:50 GMT) and hit the site directly.This is the first attack it has announced today.
  • Israeli forces beat child, take bicycle near Ramallah: ReportArmy troops have beaten a child while carrying out a raid in the town of Birzeit, north of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, leaving him bruised, reports Wafa.The child was stopped by Israeli forces while riding his bicycle, which they also confiscated, said Wafa.Children are regularly targeted in Israeli military raids across the occupied West Bank. Since October 7, Israeli forces have arrested 700 children, 250 of whom are still in Israeli custody, according to the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society.
