- Hacktivists protesting war on Gaza breach Israel’s Justice Ministry serversIsrael’s Justice Ministry says it is looking into a “cyber incident” on Friday after activist hackers protesting against the war on Gaza said they managed to breach the ministry’s servers and retrieve hundreds of gigabytes of data.“Since the morning hours, experts at the ministry and elsewhere have been looking into the incident and its implications,” the ministry said on X.“The scope of the materials is still under review, and it will take time to examine the content and scope of the documents that were leaked and their sources.”A group called Anonymous for Justice claimed responsibility for the breach, which it said included the retrieval of nearly 300 gigabytes of data. - No third-party investigation from the US into WCK killingsReporting from Washington DC, USThe White House has taken a decidedly stronger and more adamant tone in terms of the behaviour it’s expecting from Israel. In the last 48 hours, there was a very, very tense telephone call that took place between the Israeli prime minister and US President Joe Biden. Now, the White House is saying that they are now reviewing the investigation that the Israelis have conducted into the deaths of the World Central Kitchen aid workers. But they’re also rejecting the founder of World Central Kitchen’s call for a third-party independent investigation.[NGO founder] Jose Andres is likely to be disappointed, given that he feels that a transparent investigation is needed. The US says Israel has taken steps to ensure the safety of civilians on the ground, including aid workers and so aid organisations can operate safely.Click here to share on social media

- Palestinians are ‘being starved to death’Reporting from the UN headquarters, NYThis was a meeting [of the UN Security Council] that was called by Algeria, Guyana and Slovenia and this meeting was … to discuss the issue of hunger in Gaza and also the threats that are faced by humanitarians there. We heard from several different council members, we also got a briefing from a top representative from the Office of Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and also a top official from Save the Children, all of whom painted a very dark and grim picture of Palestinians in Gaza who are suffering and essentially being starved to death. We heard from the Palestinian ambassador, Riyad Mansour, and the Israeli ambassador to the UN, Gilad Erdan, who made some comments that need to be corrected. He said that Israel would never target humanitarian workers. That is simply incorrect. Two hundred twenty humanitarian workers have been killed because of Israeli bombardment in Gaza in the last six months, including 179 UN staff members, most of them working for UNRWA.
